I’ve got mixed feelings. It was tense, and I loved the monsters. But I had a hard time connecting to any of the characters. I don’t hate the ending, but it definitely leaves you hanging.

the story itself was not that bad. the concept and the idea of creatures hidden in the forest and coming out when it snows is cool. however, the worst part of the book were the characters. they were insufferable. not one of these characters were really likable, except for april and oona the dog. lauren was fine but i didn’t really care for her. ryan was kind of annoying. sawyer was a dick and jane was the worst of them all.
however i did enjoy the beginning of chapters 1, 2, 3 and 6.
starting the story off by introducing these creatures and having small parts telling more about how violent they really are was very interesting.
would i read this book again? no. i don’t think i could sit and reread about three obnoxious adults basically bulling a stranger because they’re dating a friend/old fling

It was a good book. If you're okay being afraid and kept on edge, also okay with some sad parts and gore, it's worth it. A very survivor type book. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending, but it was good, just not what I wanted lol
