Heartsick: Three Stories of Falling in Love . . . And What Happens After it Ends by Jessie Stephens

Heartsick is nonfiction that reads like a novel. I think that it helps others feel as if they are not alone and that they are not the only ones who think the way they think.
Ana is a committed wife knowing that she's not married to the right man, but has made promises. Patrick is patient with his fiance who is not sure what she wants in life. Claire is absolutely in love with her girlfriend and always seems to put more into the relationship.
I feel like there is a little bit of everyone in at least one of these people and it's nice to know you are not alone.

Insightful, focus mostly on the love part of the relationships rather than the heartbreak

‘heartsick’ is a biographical book following three different people and their stories as they fall in love and eventually experience major heartbreak. the stories offer different perspectives on love and the different ways these people approach their heartbreak. it’s the type of book to provide comfort for those experiencing similar situations and was created to show people that they are not alone in their heartbreak.
now, i haven’t gone through any type of major heartbreak, so i may not be the target audience for this book; however, i still found the stories quite touching and engaging to read. while these stories are largely nonfiction, the book almost reads like a fiction which i think made it easier to grasp. the book is full of raw and honest emotions that i believe could resonate with many readers.
thank you henry holt books for gifting me an arc to review! the finished book comes out on june 7, 2022!

At first couldn’t wait to read this book, found the three separate story lines very engaging. With a title like this you know it’s not going to be a “happily ever after” storyline, but still I felt that the sudden shift didn’t match the chapters of build up for two of the stories.
