I received this book as an ARC through Goodreads. This book covers 3 people in relationships, a woman in her 40s having an affair, a woman in her 30s navigating a serious relationship, and a man in his 20s starting his first relationship.
I really enjoyed the pacing of the book and how the stories paralleled each other. Some of the stories gave me new perspectives that I have never considered, whereas other stories I could relate to more.
I also appreciated the authors note at the introduction which added more color to the theme of the book. I think this is a strong debut book for the author.

TW: infidelity, emotional abuse.

This beautifully written book follows three individuals; Patrick, Claire and Ana through their experience of heartbreak and heartache. The interviews and the way that each story intertwined as each person reflected back on their heartbreak was poignant and beautiful. I really felt that this book flowed really well and I both read and audiobooked it and enjoyed both equally.

I felt the raw pain from each individual and was able to empathise and relate to each experience. I felt that this book was able to encapsulate the experience of heartbreak, and that each person would be able to relate to at least to one of the stories and identify that sense of pain and loss within themselves. Thank you to the three brave souls for exploring and opening up to Jessie Stephens in the most vulernable way. Especially big thank you to Jessie for this book and for sharing a snippet into her own life exepriences as well.

About halfway through Heartsick, I was already enjoying the stories about loss and love. The realization the writers have while in the midst of the pain is a spectacular journey. Each author has their own voice, and their stories become a part of our lives in ways we would not expect.
