The best book in this series so far. Everything from prior books in converging and none of it feels contrived. Most of the characters have been through hell and back and we see the meanings behind their decisions and the reasons they keep fighting.
With books like these I’m going to be devastated when I finish the series.
Also, if I had a nickel for every time the Roci took on the runaway daughter of a powerful evil man I’d have two nickels. Not a lot but it’s weird it’s happened twice.

It is completely unreasonable that this series has been so consistently fantastic. I can’t even start to understand how the authors have this much talent. You’d think there would be a misfire by book 8 in a series. In this case, you’d be wrong. I only regret not having read these earlier. Bracing for a sense of mild mental displacement and loss as I start the final one. Maybe I can pre-grieve this coming to an end? Keep me in your thoughts.
Only one more and then I won’t get the chance to not know how it ends ever again - the true true tragedy with truly great books. As always, a resounding success especially with their POV characters. I am truly going to miss stepping back into this world when it’s all said and done.
