As with many humor-based books, the author-read audiobook is def worth it.
If mommyblogs had never existed, this would have felt fresh and new. But they did, so this didn't. Klein is a wonderful writer, however.
A fun listen and exploration of female identities I haven't yet experienced. It was a great primer as midlife is around the corner for me, and it was nice to hear a mom's perspective that wasn't all rainbows and butterflies.

I’m thankful that this book exists, as it truly captures some of the more invisible (censored?) parts of motherhood. Jessi is charming and witty but hits at some great and wonderful truths.

Another great read from Jessi Klein. This one spoke to me even more, as a mother of two young girls, and approaching my 44th year.
I don’t particularly seek out books about motherhood, but sooo many of her thoughts, feelings and experiences were so incredibly relatable. (Side note: we never did the night nurse thing but that essay was particularly beautiful. The writing there, especially the ending, was *chef’s kiss*.)
There’s a lot we just don’t talk about as mothers (or jusy parents, really) because so many of us assumes that everyone else is doing a better job of it all and coping way easier, when really, we’re all figuring it day by day and we all fuck up a lot.
Love Jessi Klein’s writing style and humor and relatable observations and just loved this book.
