A different and more personal spin on Will Robie but I loved it. One thing that the editors or someone should have caught. Tyler is not his step brother. They share a father, and that makes him a half brother. Duh. Seems like a glaring mistake and the relationship is mentioned several times.

Gripping page turner. Baldacci at his best

It’s been a while since I read Will Robie’s series and I’m glad I’m back! This was a fast paced thrilling story.

Will, the ever reliable CIA assassin, fails to complete the mission and must face his demons to get back in his best form. To do that, he must go home, to Mississippi, where his estranged father has been charged with murder.

What follows is a thrilling story of secrets, revenge and betrayal, with an array of superbly crafted characters and plot twists that make your jaw drop.

This was fun!

Love this series!

Not your standard Will Robie fare but good none the less.

Figured it out at page 241

I liked this book more than the previous books in the Will Robie series. Perhaps because it was more like the Amos Decker series. Less spy/CIA/enemy countries and more at home, personal mysteries.

We meet Will's father, and we learn more about Will's his past. His character is developed, a major detail is he has to come to terms with a failed mission. When he goes home on leave he has to try and deal with his own past with his dad, and he falls smack in the middle of recent murders that are happening in his home town.

Good performance. *****
*Note, this version enhances with back ground music and sound effects. (Done well, didn't bother me, not annoying, maybe added a bit in suspense and excitement.) Some may not like this version, and sometimes I don't either, but this one was ok.

I will write more later, but I do like that injured and don't immediately heal in this series. An injury happened like two books ago and the character hasn't maintained it well and that came back in this one. Small detail I know, but it was a nice touch of reality in a thriller.

I read this book in just over 24 hours (and that includes sleeping time). I love David Baldacci's books and while my favorite series has always been the Camel Club series, Will Robie has quickly moved into the second favorite spot.

This book was probably my favorite in the series. So many characters. It was great to see Will's family and explore his background some. A great book that kept me on my toes and kept me from putting it down.
