In its third volume, Heartstopper presented us with many adorable moments. As all relationships underwent relevant developments, we learned more about Charlie’s friends and their pasts. Additionally, the book does a great job of highlighting how past experiences can affect a person’s mental health.

Even though this read was fascinatingly pleasant and comforting, I expected something I failed to find, which made this book a little less complete. Maybe it was the fact I hoped for Nick to be able to spend some time with his dad, even without them talking about his sexuality… or wanting more development in the overall plot… Maybe it came down to my having high expectations for it.

I believe the next volume holds a lot of heavy (and essential) matters. Especially when it comes to mental health or lack thereof. I’m excited to see how Oseman portrays them and if she’s capable of dealing with them in the sensible way we’re used to.

This series is adorable. I wish it was around when I was younger.
