first book read in 2024! :))) it was a great excuse to go down memory lane and even more wholesome since I’m in college just like percy is about to be! also the audiobook reader was the same from the original and I have to appreciate the little that make the experience more intentional. I will say after everything he has been through i’m surprised he felt so similar to himself from the old series. Like being stuck in tartarus I was expecting him to be a bit more impacted that by?

"How about I give you one chance to win the cup? You should feel honored, Percy Jackson. In the history of humankind, I have only made this offer to one other hero."
"Hercules," I guessed, because the answer is almost always Hercules.

“Sometimes it's the smallest waves thar knock you off your feet. Tsunamis everybody knows they're powerful. Tidal waves— big and impressive. But those small waves? They hold a lot of power. They prove what the ocean is capable of, even when no one is paying attention.”

So much nostalgia and silliness! This book has been sitting on my shelves since it came out and finally (after regretting not rereading Percy Jackson this summer) I felt the itch to pick it up. It is totally a fan services that is very surface level but it was such a fun and easy read. Loved the original trio with their sass and chaos and will definitely pick up the next college recommendation letter quest when I feel the itch again.

Classic Percy Jackson style and humor. Had a nostalgic experience reading this.
