What can I say, I absolutely adored this! Light, fluffy, low angst - just perfect! Charlie is just the perfect chaos-bisexual golden retriever himbo, Liam his nerdy not-so-prickly black cat (maybe just a tabby cat?) and I loved the premise so much! Charlie is a sweetie who is best friends with everyone… except a lot of his friend actually think he’s dating them?! When he is confronted by three of his ‘dates’ all accusing him of cheating, he just can’t understand what’s happening… until his best friend Ian pieces it together and introduces him to Mr Romance.
Mr Romance is Liam, a whip-smart physics major who moonlights as Mr Romance, a service that plans and executes perfect dates, for a fee. But this time he’s not getting paid to plan dates… he’s getting paid to help Charlie avoid any accidental ones! As they try to untangle Charlie’s ‘love life’ they grow closer… especially when Charlie suggests being friends with benefits.
The book culminates in a holiday at a theme park (think Disneyland/Universal Studios) which I was absolutely feral for! These two idiots finally managed to communicate how much they actually like each other and the swoon was off the charts!!
Read Mr Romance for:
✨ Black cat(ish) x golden retriever
✨ Himbo x nerd
✨ Anti-dating lessons
✨ Class difference
✨ Sweet, silly fun
✨ Friends with benefits
✨ Friends to lovers
✨ Disneyland vibes
✨ Low angst cuteness!

Okay I loved this book. A lot. It was endearing and funny and the characters were so perfect. Charlie is one of my favorites. I love his humor and his charm. He’s so perfect I swoon intensely. I did not expect to like this book as much as I do. I love when that happens.

Adorable clueless Charlie enlists the help of Mr. Romance himself, Liam, to help keep him from doing relationship type gestures to his friends, since that has led to multiple people thinking they were in a relationship with him.
Liam plans dates for everyone but just wants to experience them for himself one day. Charlie just wants to know who his real friends are, and who thinks they're dating. He needs a lot of help and soon enough he's texting Liam multiple times a day, they're going to brunch together, the beach, and blurring the lines of their relationship. But problems arise when Liam realizes he wants to be more than friends with the guy he's training to keep his friends in the friend zone. And Charlie is falling for the guy he's paying to be around him.
Another cute and funny read in the FU universe. My first read by this author and I'll likely read more.
