Giving this one a middle-of-the-road rating, since it's been so long since I read poetry. The last time I read poetry, it was all about sad things. "Dearly" left me with the same feeling: the only bright point seemed to be the very last poem with that glimmer of hope.

Me, it’s the heart:
that’s the part lacking.
I used to want one:
a dainty cushion of red silk
dangling from a blood ribbon,
fit for sticking pins in.
But I’ve changed my mind.
Hearts hurt.

Straight poetry. Margaret Atwood is such an old name for such a spirited soul. She has a way of spinning words together, not with contractions and verbs but with the collective human consciousness. She reminds us we are both glorious and awful (the way we treat each other and the planet) and asks us to take accountability for both.
