i liked this. it was fine. it was one of those reads where there were a few poems that i really liked but overall majority of them didn't resonate or wow me. but, i am glad i read it as i want tp continue to expand the poetry i read.

Poetry is difficult to review. Saying that this collection is filled with poems dealing with loss, death, climate change and misogyny really does not give it justice.
This is a very accessible poetry, which is not a bad thing. What made Atwood’s poems stand out for me and also what made them such a pleasure to read was the skillful use of alliteration, repetition and wordplay, combined with frequent slant rhymes. And aliens. She really got my attention when she mentioned aliens.

Here are my favorites:

At The Translation Conference

Lovely collection of poems read by the author. Definitely a collection I will revisit.

The final section was the stand out. Personal favorites: "Frida Kahlo, San Miguel, Ash Wednesday", "Fatal Light Awareness", "Invisible Man", and "Dearly"

Some were dog-eared for my permanent collection, but most were just not ready yet, imo. I am all about Atwood's scifi, but the poetry... meh
