This is a charming fairy tale. At times, it seems to wander off on tangents, but don't worry. The pieces will all come together in the end.

Loved this modern fairytale, and it was a lovely bonus that it was read by Neil Gaiman himself!
A fairy tale for adult, eh? In my opinion, fairy tale is for everyone from all ages. I mean, really, even though some (if not most) fairy tales are toned down for children, like in Snow White, it was actually her mother who wanted her die, and Little Mermaid didn't have a happy end.
Anyhow, Stardust offers pretty much same formula with many other fairy tale-like stories. An "illegitimate" son born from an unlikely union, which the male side was completely unaware of it. And his son is pretty much as innocent and unaware as he was.
All in all, it's a cute story, something good for all age. There are lots to learn from Tristran's stupidity and honest-to-goodness innocence. Like most fairy tales, it has a happy end. Which I guess is preferred by lots of people. XD

I haven't read many (if any) fantasy books outside of HP and this was a solid introduction to the genre!
it was fun to immerse myself in the world but there were a few wtf moments that took me right out of it... the author's use of "pull out" during a sex sequence, "pissing" during, well, a sequence where a character was pissing, and "fuck" when a character sustained a minor injury were all so off-putting and not very fantasyish to me lmao.
I also found the plot a bit repetitive. it was a lot of "okay we're here at this location now and this is happening. okay we're done now and now we're at the next location".
regardless, I enjoyed my time reading this one for the most part and, as I always say, that's the most important thing to me!

Absolutely amazing. The type of story that leaves you a little heartsick at the end and you're not quite sure why. Loved this one.

Very close to being 4 stars. However, I wish the substance to the relationships coming about in this book didn’t feel so rushed.
I love this book! it would make an amazing introduction into the fantasy genre. now, dare I say this??? I liked the movie better. (commence stoning now).
