An autobiography of an astronaut emphasizing overcoming problems, fixing mistakes, working as a collaborative to solve problems even when the imposter syndrome rears its head.

Fun, relatable space memoir!
persistence!

3.8. He's a good explainer. I might even check out his podcasts or relevant episodes of the Big Bang Theory.

Fantastic!

The writing is stellar. The pace is good and the stories are relatable. Everyone who grew up with the space program will find this a walk down memory lane and an inspiration.

A perfect blend of interesting information about space and the space program and a David and Goliath tale about a young man achieving his dreams against all odds. Mike Massimino has a genuine voice with a likable awe of the world and his job. Very sweetly told.

I loved Mike's down-to-earth style of writing and the way he puts you in the mind of a new astronaut. It's an inspiring book without resorting to the usual approaches. Mike just tells his story, and it all clicks.

Mike Massimino reminds me of a guy I used to work with we called Big Kid. The enthusiasm he must have felt for the space program comes through here. I never aspired to go to space, but I love finding out what pushes people to sit on a bomb and be thrown outside of the planet's atmosphere. He gives me an enthusiast's view of his life goals. @AstroMike

This autobiography by Mike Massimino is an absolute joy to read. Mass, as he is known as, has a way of making complex ideas and processes easy to understand and his enthusiasm for space comes across vividly in the book. There were no weak parts of the book at all. From the stories about his early life and upbringing led right into how he became who he is; failures and successes., wins and losses. The chapters about astronaut training where fascinating and informative, stories I had not heard of in other books. And the personal account of the Columbia disaster is heartbreaking and inspiring. I highly recommend.

This is the story of Mike Massimino--the savior of the Hubble Space Telescope--who relentlessly chased his childhood of becoming an astronaut and how he succeeded. A very inspiring story.

The book also is also a window to those who want to know how astronauts train and prepare for their missions to space, and, to some extent, how NASA operates. Great book.

Great book about working hard to overcome obstacles to achieve your dreams. This is about a kid from New York who has a dream about becoming an astronaut. He works hard and finds out that you can't do it all alone. Eventually he becomes an astronaut and goes to space twice.

Inspiring book that gives you a look into how people become astronauts and what it is like to be in space. Great book for any kid that dreams of setting foot on Mars or the moon, or just wants to float in space looking down on the giant spaceship we call planet Earth.
