Super cute lesson in sharing (and MATH!) bracketed by Elephant Gerald and Piggie. Also, made me hungry. Gerald, you're right. Books make you feel things. (HUNGER!)

edited 10/14 -- not a great read aloud for a group! but i tried! :)

This seemed like a step up from the core Elephant and Piggie Collection. More dialog, busier pictures, more complex math. But the humor holds strong and my six-year-old beginning reader had a great time reading this on his own.

The illustrations are typical Santat. Bright, bold, warm, and highly expressive.

It did not disappoint.

Super cute, could be read for a math lesson.

A fun kids book that sneakily introduces math. Well done, Dan Santat, well done.

Laugh out loud funny.

That is all.

A book that's fun and you learn something?! Yes, yes it is.

I love both Mo Willems & Dan Santat, and I love that their characters got to interact via book in this book! Also, practical math, even if hippo breaks things when mad.
"Gah" is my new favorite font, and that is what I am calling it until someone tells me its real name. Input welcome, but I am also OK with calling it "Gah".

Introduces fractions/math concepts with a fun story about sharing and Santat's lovely artwork.
