This was not my favorite. It was an enjoyable read because Margaret Atwood is always an enjoyable read, but it just seemed so goofy to me in so many places.
I started this book probably 4 times before I finally read it. Once I finally started reading beyond the first 40 pages, I was glad I did. In typical Atwood fashion, this book brought a lot of new ideas to mind and forces you to question many "ideal solutions" people come up with to our societal problems. While I was able to predict a good chunk of the book, it still made me stop and think, which I love in a novel.

It's so good. Seriously, just try it. I just love this author.
how much do it take because an utopia becomes a distopia, because a dream become a nightmare? In Margaret Atwood books really very little, just like in real life, because, let's be serious, nobody gives you anything for nothing. And in fact the dream of Charmaine and Stan, a young couple forced to sleep in their car in because of the crisis, to have again a roof over their heads, good food and a decent job provided that they enter into a kind of experimental community, actually last very little. They put a few of their own, given that the apparent new peace leads them to betray one another, much rather takes greed, madness and subterfuge. Thus, in an atmosphere Big Brother-like seasoned with penitentiary climate, covert activities and brain surgery, their lives literally fall apart and only the flight saves them. But the world, out there, is a really more free and less vicious place from which they fled?
Great book even if not a masterpiece, at least from my point of view, due to one too many logical leap.

Atwood does it once again! Not my favorite of hers, but she’s creative and makes you experience all the feels nonetheless.
