tycho is (as usual) i delight to read

the book did the impossible, it made me genuinely like rhen again which I didn't think was possible but thank you

grey, while I understood his motives and actions, still annoyed me greatly but the ending scenes
with jax and tycho (even nakiis) (/spoiler> were amazing

JAX, MY LOVE <3

callyn was incredible as soon as she got her head screwed back on straight and (princess) nora was a ray of sunshine

this book was amazing. i am obsessed. it was so well written and the characters were exciting and loveable. i was hooked onto the story since the start, which rarely happens with books that are this long. i usually lose interest quickly but i was very surprised with how much i loved it. i had never heard of the book before but i saw it in a bookshop and i decided to try it. i hope that this book and all of kemmerers books get more recognition because she is a truly wonderful author. i cant wait to read her other books and fall in love with her characters again.

I loved absolutely everything about this book. I was a little intimidated by this book at first because it's over 500 pages. However, I got through the book fairly fast (3 days) because I was so invested in the drama, the betrayal, the magic, and the romance.

The writing was very vivid. I could imagine everything that was happening like it was a tv show. Each chapter is written from a different character's perspective, so you're getting every side of the story. So, you're constantly second guessing who can be trusted and what side is the right side (for magic vs. against magic).

Also, I liked that in this world (set in the old times), there were no restrictions on what positions women could hold or sexuality.

✨️Favorite Character✨️
Nora was my favorite character because babyyyyy she was telling everybody's business in the worst moments. She's a kid, so she doesn't know any better, and that makes it even funnier.

Overall, I loved this book, I will be reading the rest of the series.

Brigid Kemmerer does it again. I love her books so much, and being able to revisit Syhl Shallow and Emberfall was great. I loved getting to see the old cast of characters once again as well as the new characters that were introduced. I also really appreciated how she sprinkled the plot of the Curse So Dark and Lonely throughout to remind past readers who may have forgotten some of it (AKA: me).

Perfect. I need the sequels, and even more sequels, and I want every single character to get their own sequel!

Thank you Bloomsbury Publishing for sending me a copy of this book.

This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2022, and it did not disappoint. Even with this book taking place a few years after the events of the Cursebreakers series, it’s like we picked up right where we left off. Seeing the characters grow, and their current journey made me extremely happy.

Small disclaimer, you did need to have read the Cursebreakers series before reading this novel. They are heavily connected, talking about events and people from the main trilogy. You will spoil yourself for that book, and the events aren’t in the trilogy aren’t fully recapped.

Our main group here is Tycho, Callyn and Jax. But we do get to see many familiar faces from the original trilogy almost immediately. The tension in this book was amazing. Kemmerer writes “political”fantasy very well, giving the perspective of both sides from each party. This book excelled in showing us what it was like for all the civilians during the events of the main trilogy, and how they feel after the fact. It wasn’t a secret, but the main focus, since one our main perspectives come from someone who was living through it.

The romance was unexpected at first, but once I clued in, I was hooked. Once again, the romance isn’t the main focus of the novel, but it’s not hidden away in the background either. Both the main fantasy plot and the romance plot work well together and made me extremely invested.

If you loved the Cursebreakers series, you will love this book. I know many were disappointed with A Vow So Bold and Deadly, but to me, this really made up for that.
