I could listen to Murderbot adventures to the end of time.

If it wasn't already clear, I love the Murderbot series.

This takes place between Exit Strategy and Network Effect

This one was a bit different from the previous books since this is basically a murder mystery, but it wasn't any less fantastic. I loved getting to see this side of Murderbot (it wasn't allowed to use it's hacking abilities) and the fact that we got to see more of Preservation was also great. I enjoyed getting to see a bit of the law and politics of Preservation in action as well.

The new characters Murderbot gets to interact with were also fun. I always love Murderbot's interactions with everyone at all times and It's snark was on extra high gear in this book and I loved every second of it.

100% will reread again and I can't wait for the next installment!

I personally think that this should have come before Network Effect. In the timeline, it seems like it does. You get so much character development in the novel before this that it feels weird because it seems like Murderbot has taken a step back in their character development. I felt like this novella was lacking in what the novel gave us and what it had set up. Now I am not saying that the author needs to only write novels but I think they laid a lot of good groundwork and set up a lot of great things in Network Effect that should have been carried on to this one and it was not. I was very disappointed in this part and hope she moves forward in the timeline. I still need more Murderbot in my life.
