I didn’t realize I was picking up a Christian romance but apparently I did. I usually avoid them because I find them even more typical and un-believable than non-Christian ones, but there were quite a few moments in this book that moved me to tears and had a ring of reality to them that I appreciated.

This chaste Christian women’s literature novel is heartwarming. The story is told from the POV of 4 narrators, each of them going through a time of healing with God’s providential hand heavily directing their steps. There are so many regrets redeemed.

The romance portion of the story is sweet, with the two characters being extremely careful with the small amount of time they have together, particularly since neither of them was shopping for romance. Being careful doesn’t limit their chemistry, however, and the story is filled with warm fuzzies, reconciliation, intergenerational healing, and friendship.

slow-paced

Light read but very enjoyable.

Mijn eerste boek uit in weken door een readingslump. Daardoor voelt het ook niet goed om hem nu te beoordelen. Maar ik vond het zeker een leuk boek!

This is a good story for someone who wants a clean, churchy romance. I find it surprising that the book description doesn't reveal in the slightest just how Christian this story is. To be honest, I'm here because I listened to Bride and the reader, Therese Plummer, was so good that I wanted to listen to more books narrated by her. Boy was I surprised that her vast catalogue of audiobooks are clean and churchy romances! How did she go from Hope Harbor to Bride??
