one of the easiest 5 stars i have ever given. beautiful, devastating, and bittersweet all tied up in one. i wished the very happiest of lives for every main character and loved understanding each of them deeply. it was difficult to read at some points because it forces you to confront the dark and despicable things that humans are capable of that we usually turn a blind eye towards, which is exactly what the author wants. absolutely gorgeous novel.

I thought a book dealing with such a sensitive topic would have more intrigue, but it wound up being boring chic lit with very basic, immature writing.

Terrifying, upsetting, and yet heartwarming.

the dynamics of child sexual abuse are so difficult to understand, but i thought this book addressed it nicely. i work with abused children, and to see the world through Jordan's eyes and through the eyes of everyone involved in Jordan's life is truly helpful. it's well-written and compelling. i honestly couldn't put it down.

Hard subject matter but, a great book!!!

I didn't read the reviews prior to getting this book, so I was a bit surprised at the subject matter. Some parts were difficult to read, but overall, a well written story that I couldn't put down.

How hard is it to write a book about child molestation? More than that, how hard would it be to write a book about child molestation and have it be readable? Funny at times? Endearing? That is the GREAT accomplishment of Kittle, who has taken the world's most unimaginable subject - child molestation and the child porn industry - and turned it into a compelling, heartbreaking and witty book about one family's journey through hell and back. There are times where you will have to turn your head away from the book to close your eyes and shy away from the terrible things you read, but for each moment like that, there are one hundred more that make you gasp at the triumph and steadfast determination of the human spirit. For it's dark subject matter, this book shines with bright hope. Hear this: this is one of the best women's fiction books I've ever read.
