The subject matter is very difficult to stomach, especially if you are a parent. However, this book is very well written. I liked the different perspectives of many of the multiple characters. I found myself caring about the characters. My heart ached for Jordan. The story unfolded throughout the book. It was very hard to put down and I lost a few nights of sleep finishing it.

Engaging but very tough subject matter, written well. Be in a good place when you read it.

Great, quick read, even though the subject matter is very disturbing.

I am not sure how this book got on my TBR list. I am not sure who recommended me to read this.

I feel the title is not an accurate description of this book. Sarah, Nate and Danny knew Jordan and his family. Danny and Jordan were friends. The only idea I can come up with is the author was conveying that Sarah (and family) thought they knew Courtney ( and family).

This was a very very difficult book to read. It was heart breaking. There was no description or summary on Goodreads.

It feels wrong to even try to rate this book due to the topic. There are beautiful parts of this book and I know I won't forget this book for a long long time.

This was a tough one to read in that the subject matter is something none of us like to think about, let alone talk/read about. But ultimately, worth the read to get you thinking and watching and being aware of what's happening around you.

Very well written...page turner. Feel sorta weird about giving it 5 stars though b/c of the disturbing content.

My book club picked this book for January and I finally got my hands on a copy yesterday. As soon as I read the first page, I remembered I'd read it nearly ten years ago in hardback! It's a haunting story and not one I could read again. The topic is tough, but the writing is very good - quite the page turner.

Heartbreaking but I couldn't put it down.. May not be able to read if you have children due to some sensitive issues dealing with sexual abuse, but very well written and well-paced despite the content.

I loved this book. The subject matter of pedophilia is weighty, but the writing is excellent. You can't help but for feel for Jordan throughout the story.

Child abuse is definitely a relevant and critical problem in our world, but I found this book too graphic and disturbing. Its hard to believe that people often are found out to be nothing like they seem to be
