A story of family and expectations and how what you think your family expects is far from reality. Set in Aspen at Christmas this story of love and finding your way in life and being true to yourself.

A Wedding in December by Sarah Morgan

Blurb

In the snowy perfection of Aspen, the White family gathers for youngest daughter Rosie’s whirlwind Christmas wedding. First to arrive are the bride’s parents, Maggie and Nick. Their daughter’s marriage is a milestone they are determined to celebrate wholeheartedly, but they are hiding a huge secret of their own: they are on the brink of divorce. After living apart for the last six months, the last thing they need is to be trapped together in an irresistibly romantic winter wonderland.

Rosie’s older sister, Katie, is also dreading the wedding. Worried that impulsive, sweet-hearted Rosie is making a mistake, Katie is determined to save her sister from herself! If only the irritatingly good-looking best man, Jordan, would stop interfering with her plans…

Bride-to-be Rosie loves her fiancé but is having serious second thoughts. Except everyone has arrived—how can she tell them she’s not sure? As the big day gets closer, and emotions run even higher, this is one White family Christmas none of them will ever forget!

My Opinion

I picked this book out to read months ago, but I have been putting it off waiting for Christmas. There is just something about reading a Sarah Morgan book around Christmas. This is such a heart-warming book that will leave you emotional. A charming, cosy read that is really festive. The White family is doing something different for Christmas this year, will this be the start of new traditions?

Rating 4/5

This is the first book I’ve read by Sarah Morgan and definitely won’t be my last. I loved this book, a perfect pick me up feel good a Christmas read to read in between some serious books. I love family drama books and the realities of sibling rivalry and love and parents issues behind close doors. Hope this gets a Hallmark movie like some of her others!

At first, I wasn’t sure I wanted to read this book because it was marketed as a Christmas book. In the end, I decided reading a wintery book in December would be fun. Like many other books I enjoy, this book features a pair of sisters and their mother and the love stories involving all three. While the book centered around the wedding of Rosie and Dan, I also enjoyed Dan’s mother Catherine and the relationship she forms with Rosie’s mother, Maggie. I think books like this appeal to a variety of readers by focusing on characters of varying ages and life stages! It was a sweet, wintery romance that also addressed the power of bravery.

My first reading experience with Sarah Morgan revealed that her storytelling is simply not for me.
Mainstream plot devices & outdated stereotypes bored me.

I have a very hard time rating this book so I'm not going to give it a star rating because I enjoyed it like 4 star read but on the other hand I don't know how some parts of the story went, which feels like 2 stars. It's worth reading but it has too much drama for my liking. I want more wholesome and cozy holidays novels and this one was other than the usual Sarah Morgan books.
