Just right for a cross-country trip on a plane w/o in-flight entertainment! Fun and fast-paced, neither deep nor memorable.

I got this book as an ebook ARC from NetGalley a long time ago. I just checked and it was published back in January of 2018 so it really was a long time ago. Dang. I sometimes really suck at the "advanced" portion of the ARC deal...

Anyway, I waited so long that I was able to enjoy the audio version. And I did enjoy it. The narrator did a good job - a very nice job - and I was sucked into the story pretty quickly. I thought I knew where the book was going but there were some twists and turns that made the experience even more than I expected. I don't normally read spy books but I'm glad I picked this one up.

My only real issue was that the ending was pretty anti-climactic and felt like it happened a bit too easily and quickly. It didn't take away from my enjoyment overall though.

OKAY! Scratch that. That'll teach me to start my review while still listening to the ending. I thought I was listening to the epilogue but I wasn't. :-)

So if you haven't read Need to Know yet because you meant to but your TBR pile got away from you, here's your reminder!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for putting it on my radar!

HOLY SMOKES! This political/spy/thriller was edge of your seat good from start to end! Be prepared to finish this book w/o putting it down.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Random House for this advanced readers copy.

For a protagonist who is supposed to be highly intelligent, her actions and decisions were incredibly dumb.

Predictable, but much better writing than some other thrillers ice encountered. I feel like the number of children was a bit much and for being a CIA analyst, the MC was a bit dense, but overall, it was fine.

Ugh. This premise could've been so amazingly executed and written. But that main character. Her oscillations between "I love him I believe him - oh No I don't he is a spy - Oh no but he is my husband father of my children - NO I MISTRUST HIM - Nooooo I love him". Make up your mind and act accordingly.

Girl, please. You are in the freaking CIA. You are supposed to be intelligent and decisive and protect the country from threats. Not act like a hormonal teenager while also acting like a woman having a mid-life crisis.

A good beach read but don't get frustrated with the middle or the end. Or anything else for that matter.

I forgot I had read this book this past summer. Overall, it was a bit too slow moving for me and I never really developed an interest in the characters. The concept of the book is great but I think the story was developed in a way I was not expecting and that threw me off.

I thought it was a top psychological thriller. It was different than other books I have read.
