Still good, but seem to turn around and around a little bit, still come back with kind of the same thing with a different touch.

No voy a seguir leyendo la serie. O quizás no dentro de estos meses, no sé. Las cosas malas terminaron siendo más grandes que las buenas y me cansé.
-Feo, simple artwork. No puedo diferenciar los lugares o personajes, son todos iguales. Un gran problema para seguir los libros si no podés reconocer quién es quién. Y más cuando todos hablan igual. No hay detalles en los cuadros. Estoy pensando en Saga y lo hermoso que es todo y The walking dead parece dibujado por niños al lado. Los gestos son grotescos e irreales, solo saben estar enojados y gritar los personajes. No puedo disfrutar de ese tipo de arte.
-Los personajes son todos blancos y heterosexuales. No mental illness, o muy mal tratadas. Y con semejante situaciones uno esperaría muchas enfermedades mentales. ¿Qué pasó con la gente discapacitada/con discapacidad? ¿Se murieron todos? No voy a mencionar lo ofensivo que sería eso, me parece que es obvio. ¿O, como la gente de color, el autor cree que no existen en el mundo? DIVERSIDAD, gente. ¿Por qué le tienen tanto miedo a esa palabra?
-No tensión, solo drama en los últimos tomos. Era el miedo lo que me daban ganas de seguir leyendo y no parar, no saber si iban a lograrlo. Pero después de tantas aventuras de mierda, que empiezan a ponerse aburridas y repetitivas, ya sé que van a lograrlo. Los conflictos son internos ahora, pero me parecen llenos de drama y muy mal desarrollados. ¿No se resuelven de forma muy sencilla?
-No me gusta Rick. Ups, lo dije. Y en general, ningún personaje. Quizás el autor quiere mostrar lo desastroso que somos. Pero con la poca diversidad, más probable que él sea un asco. Lo que me lleva a otro punto.
-La forma que muestran a los personajes femeninos es tan asquerosa. Madres, o mujeres histéricas, o egoístas, o mentirosas. ¿En serio? ¿En que siglo estamos? Ni el fin del mundo destruye la misoginia, che. La mayoría de las mujeres se mueren, cuento con los dedos las que hay en el grupo; son personajes secundarios, cuento con los dedos (y sobran) las que son protagonistas; sus historias no tiene nada de complejidad, cuento con los dedos (y da vergüenza el número) las que parecen de carne y hueso.
-Los discursos de Rick me tienen harta. Hartaaaaaa. En los momentos menos indicados, tipo, los están persiguiendo pero que pare el mundo que Rick va a hablar sobre la esperanza !!!¡¡¡ Son irreales además, aburridos y siempre dicen lo mismo. A partir del tomo 15 empecé a saltear diálogos y páginas enteras.
Adiós, Rick. Espero que mueras porque tu historia ya me tiene re podrida. Ni siquiera sos tan buen personaje para hacer tanta cosa.

I've said before that the series is getting a little repetitive in the last few volumes. This one breaks slightly, thus giving me hope that we will see something different in the near future. As before, though, I do hope there is an end in sight.
We are introduced to many new characters in this volume like Paul Monroe (Jesus) and there is talk of Negan. I'm so bummed that this is the last volume I have with me to read because I'm dying to know what happens after this! This volume was full of surprises and was a lot of build up to a lot of shit that is going to go down, I can tell. I think it even introduced a new villain that is going to be bigger and badder than all the previous villains.

I wasn't sure if I could trust Jesus at first. I was not surprised at all when Rick tied him up and kept him prisoner. But once Negan admitted that he could've untied himself the whole time I knew he could be trusted. The Hilltop seems to good to be true. Clearly the threat of Negan is something that keeps the hilltop from being 100% safe. I think the leader of the Hilltop is weak because he allows Negan to control them so easily. But I think Rick is really naive in thinking his group can go kill Negan and his "saviors" so easily. I think he will come to regret that decision and Negan is going to be way worse than they could've ever thought possible. Rick and the group have dealt with a lot of shitty people in the past but that doesn't mean it'll be easy for Rick's group to take out new threats. I'm curious to see where this is going though. I can't shake the feeling that Negan is going to cause a lot of trouble and a lot of death in Rick's group.

While I'm aghast that somehow we don't own the 15th book at work, I wonder if I really missed all that much. In the last one I read, Carl had half of his face missing & now he has an eye patch, but beyond that - what would've happened? I like how uber-paranoid Rick & his group has become, and I am truly hoping that this Naren guy turns out to have something with the Governor. I was also wishing that as Rick gave his hopeful speech in soaring panels at the end, a zombie would come up behind him & eat his head, but I guess there's always book 17!
I liked this one a lot. I think because I like the parts abut survival and everyday life rather than just going out and smashing living dead things.
Several issues in a row now have felt like filler leading up to something big. I'm happy we're finally getting mention of Negan but I just want something to *happen* now. I know what's to come is bleak but I'm starting to get bored of the lack of action!
Although not much is happening in this one, I like the direction it's heading. The next couple volumes have epic potential!
This franchise is in a unique cultural place right now. Not only has it been adapted into a popular TV series, but the source material book series is still chugging along. And I don't think there's room enough for both. While I still feel the creative direction of the books has always been braver and more captivating, I can't deny the show has gotten better, or at least more consistent, and there's no denying its popularity. In fact, it appears that the show has now surpassed the books as canon for the majority of fans. If that's the case--and if you agree that one of the main reasons for following a genre franchise is for the fandom community you share--then it looks like the fight is over.
This volume is fine in and of itself, but it feels somewhat...secondary. Financially, it doesn't make sense to end anytime soon, but it could use the urgency of having an end in sight.
