THIS was really fun. I went in skeptical, but did enjoy it.

Jade, the FMC, was oddly cool with being abducted by aliens which was weird. “Oh hey, I got abducted and they want me to marry and have an alien baby, no biggie”. So that was odd but kinda like same. She was lonely and the alien men were hot with vibrating d*cks so like I get it.

I loved the theme of beauty being different based on culture. That was my favorite highlight.

The men having to WORKKKK for a wife and how the society functioned was perfect fiction. It really appealed to my escapism tendencies.

I can’t wait to continue this series ❤️

This is the biggest book disappointment I've had in a long time. Choosing Theo was on my tbr for 3 years and after reading it I wish it had stayed there.
The writing is so bad; the characters are flat, the dialogue is irritating, and there are several massive plot holes. The story spends so much time explaining how the Clecain solution isn't terrible or abusive for the males only to turn around and have the MMC be abusive towards the FMC-repeatedly!- but don’t worry it’s ok because he’s hot and she likes him. 😮‍💨
There’s also a very weird thing throughout the story where the alien characters repeatedly tell the MC not to judge their society. The warning occurs so frequently that at first I wondered if there was going to be a surveillance state in the storyline but then I kept reading and realized the writing isn’t that deep. It’s just weird bullying for the MC to not have any negative opinions at all. For what? Why? It’s so weird.
Usually when I don’t like a book I can at least understand why someone else would like it but this time I’m absolutely mystified by the overwhelming amount of glowing reviews

This was a Reddit recommendation. This is pretty much the same plot as Ice Planet Barbarians but I am more excited to continue this series than that one. I'm only taking one star off because the ending felt a bit rushed. I felt like the reveal was too quick and then it was over. I'm on to the next one now.

A fun read - like a better take on ice plant barbarian. While not a the best writing, the story was fun, the slice was great and I lived the world building and the rules. I may reread a few more in the series.
