Am I just too dumb to understand this 😭 and I didn’t get the majority of the religious allusions
This is the first book that I read that was the winner of the Pulitzer Prize that I did not absolutely love. (There is actually no winner for the Pulitzer Prize for fiction this year.) It was a good read but I did not find the storyline gripping enough until the very ending.

Старый (76-летний) священник из маленького городка в Айове пишет письмо своему маленькому сыну, надеясь что тот прочтёт его взрослым. Рассказывает о своём одноглазом очень колоритном дедушке, о его видениях и борьбе с рабовладельчеством, о своём друге детства, о своём непутёвом крёстном сыне. О многом рассказывает. Местами очень неясно, что главный герой хочет сказать. Местами приходится читать Википедию, как в том месте, где упоминается Карл Барт и его теология. Очень атмосферно. В целом мне понравилось, но не так уж чтобы особо сильно.
