Good book i enjoyed the plot and the writing was good .

-Even though a second chance romance and childhood sweethearts are one of my disliked tropes but I found that I really enjoyed this book, the authors pulled it off very well which is very rare .

I specifically liked that the female character was the one who messed up and needed forgiveness it was a refreshing change .

Adam's character was very realistic , i found that his reaction to Evie was understandable and deserved , The love of his life who had left him 10 years ago suddenly came back and refused to tell him why she left or give him any information on why she broke his heart. it's understandable that he would be angry and frustrated with her and even said some hurtful things sometimes. but he also couldn't deny his love and attraction for her and I feel like that frustrated him even more. how he wanted to be angry with her but at the same time was still in love with her.
His mother was straight up the devil for what she did to them

Tropes :
-Childhood sweethearts
-Friends to lovers to fuckbuddies ig? To lovers
-second chance romance
-no cheating no ow drama
-female main character was celibate for 10 years during their time apart , the male character was not celibate he admitted to sleeping with alot of women to cope with losing her.

My dislikes :
-masking adam's sex addiction as him being addicted to Evie like no , when she left she caused him to develop both a drug AND sex addiction and he needed help with both.
- Evie in general was very annoying
-Lack of groveling on her part , she hurt him TREMENDOUSLY and continued to lie to him , she needed to grovel for what she did to him even if she had her reasons she could have easily gone about it differently. Like I understand her when she was 18 she was just a child in a very stressful and difficult situation, but 10 years later she's a grown woman she should have made better choices and used her head.

I great listen definitely worth the time

Wow'ed again by Samantha Towle!!

We get a really great story about two young loves, met by chance, maybe destiny.

It begins like all great love story begins...
A boy met a girl, the boy and girl fell in love, and the boy lost the girl.

Adam Gunner is the son of a movie mogul. Spoiled in all things materialistic, but penniless in being loved.
Evie Taylor is strong young girl who has survived many obstacles and tragedy, and will continue to make sure she and her family survives, despite the sacrifice.

I really liked how Samantha Towle went back and forth from past to present in their POV's. And how she carefully crafted the story to get you to the present, and then make you live all the love, laughs and pain. She makes you doubt their future. She dangled hope in front of your face to just make you believe that they would never survive the secrets and hurt!

It's so hard to review this story without giving away the details of their ups and downs in their relationship... the good is breathtaking... the bad is soul shattering. It truly puts you in the mindset of being in the same situation, and having to choose between what you love the most... what would you do? Could you survive it? Would you be able to forgive?

I love reading anything by Samantha Towle... Read this!

Excellent!

The sweetest story ever! I love second chance love stories, especially when the couple have been married before. This one just fit the bill. Adam is the son of a Hollywood actress and a studio owner. He was born with the sole purpose of inheriting the studio and run it, following the tradition of Gunner men. However, though he lived in riches he grew up lonely and unloved. Until one day he met Evie, fell in love and married one year later. One week after that she disappeared and only left signed annulment papers with a note that said I'm sorry. Ten years after the fact, Adam is at the head of the Gunner Studios but more lonely than ever. Evie has her father and sister but she was never the same after loosing Adam. She's now working at a coffee shop.

The book is structured in alternating POV and time chapters, narrating the story of Adam and Evie when they met as teenagers and the present time when they meet again after 10 years. It's a little frustrating because the author keeps us on the dark of why Evie left. However, at some time in the book you suspect what the reason was, and it made perfect sense.

At first, the alternating chapters of present and past time are a bit annoying, but they work because they are well identified as to time and character. I think the author did a great job, juggling different POV's with different times and having it all worked out great.

I loved Adam and Evie's love story, totally recommend this book.

LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!

I have a pet peeve about this type of book, and that is when the character who's head we are living in is keeping a secret from the reader. It makes absolutely no sense, especially because people don't think in such a vague way, as if they are keeping the secret from themselves. I would have preferred, if we were going for the element of surprise (but come on it was pretty obvious), that we never got Evie's point of view in the present.
