I read The Narrow Road Between Desires first, and that has definitely colored my opinion of The Lightning Tree. The Lightning Tree is good but The Narrow Road Between Desires elevates the writing and also fixes some problematic parts of the story. I know the rewrite is controversial, but I definitely enjoyed both.

As always, I love Rothfuss’ writing style and I love Bast but man is there once again a focus on fae… sexuality. Let me put it that way. Hehe Other than that though, I love the little details and connections in the story that come together in the end. Fun little story.
