Lack of description of the actions of the characters. Convenient plot. Not interesting.

For some reason, when a book has a glossary or definitions in the beginning I get nervous that the world building is going to be overly complicated and diminish my enjoyment of the book. I have to say that Spark of the Everflame did not follow this trend and I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Diem is a feisty and complicated FMC and I am enjoying her journey as I feel we are learning about her at the same time she is learning about herself. Luther is interesting and I look forward to figuring out his motivations. I feel like this series is going to keep me on my toes (in the best way) and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Wow. This book caught me off guard. I knew nothing about it except for seeing a friend post it on bookstagram and the hype she gave it. I think I’m becoming a fantasy girlie. I enjoy fantasy stories where the main character doesn’t have powers but those around them do. And their true strength shines through.
