I found the FMC annoying and the book too slow based to hold my interest. I didn't anticipate it getting any better and moved on to other books. I didn't feel the need to pic it back up for about a month so I'm calling it. Too many books to spend time on ones that don't bring joy, education, or some other value.

Solid 4⭐️ book. There was a point in the middle where the FMC really lost me but the story is well paced and sets up book 2 well. If you’re deep into the SJM universe I think you’ll like this. Not as outstanding as her best books, but her best books are never the first in her series’s either so
