I had a hard time with Diem. Luther put it best - she is only lying to herself and it’s so tedious. I liked the ending though

I devoured this book. Hooks you from the start. 🪝 The plot is very engaging, which is refreshing for a romantasy.
The FMC’s snark and sass is top notch. The MMC is so delicious it literally paralyzed me. The tension— dear lords some of the best slow burn I’ve read. Not a lot of spice in this one, but I can see it getting much spicier in future books.
Loved the simplicity of the world, and how we slowly get glimpses of how complicated it will surely become.
The only reason this isn’t a 5 is because the FMC sometimes really bothered me. Made decisions that had me puzzled in the wrong way/ didn’t feel justified. I might revisit my rating after the next books because there could be a reason why.
