There was a lot about this book I liked. A nice dual time line told through modern day and a journal that is character driven.

The book was amazing and I enjoyed reading it. Throughout the novel, I was at the edge of my seat. It was full of secrets and I couldn't seem to focus on anything else.

I've always wanted to learn about wine, seems like this is the perfect book to learn about it. Though there were not many scenes involving them, I enjoyed it. And the scenario in the basement made me feel uneasy. I couldn't help but think of Conjuring's basement.

I had lot of fun reading Heather's diary. I loved her character and stubbornness. The war was brutal and I felt a tremble run through my body. I despised her stepmother. She was a cruel person.

His aunt's cooking must've been the worst food she had ever tasted and the way children gave all mushrooms to her was hilarious. I didn't expect Jean to help her though.

The reunion of Jean-Luc and Kate was the only thing that disappointed me. It was sudden and unexpected. They were barely together for a few moments and I didn't feel the connection.

Really fun read. I enjoyed the jumps between present and WW2. Also good piece to help reflect on the sins of your ancestors.
