The end is here and I have to say despite knowing how it would all end I was left still surprised by how ends were tied. As always Riordan has a way to make me laugh and sob all in one sitting. The Trials of Apollo has been a whirlwind of a trip and this ending was absolutely worthy to the whole series.

I was pleased Apollo was focused on how much he has changed over the course of six months. He has seen the errors of his ways. He has had a taste of what it is like to be mortal, to be limited, and wants to be better even if he is forever Lester. I think it is a wonderful lesson that even when you've had millenia to exist there are even lessons to be learned and it is still possible to change if you are willing. And Apollo's change did not happen overnight nor was he alone. Meg was a huge impact of his growth as was he for her. It was beautiful to see her own growth.

I highly recommend this series to fans of Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus. As well as those who like lore and myths with a little twist who don't mind puns and jokes to break tension as the story progresses. Especially great to those who like to read huge series. Honestly I would love to buy the books and read them again. I always have a wonderful time with Riordan's work.

So many of these books are on my favorites list because I think Rick is just a great story teller. And knows how to wrap up a story arc while leaving more out there.

All I have to say about the ending is that I think it’s about time I get my Nico di Angelo series

Apollo wanders the serpent’s lair alone
Leaving camp half-blood and new rome,
Facing the final fight to return home
Blood turns from red to ichor in chrome
But a feeling he still cannot fathom
Glory was never about the throne
