Fantastic book! Definitely my favorite one by the author, from what I’ve read so far. Loved the characters (Ayer’s was a fantastic Ice Queen) and I loved how Lauren and Catherine’s relationship and chemistry developed. Winter also gave us a great cast of secondary characters—interesting and fun and three dimensional all. The pacing was great and the plot intricate and compelling, it was hard to put the book down. Really amazing read. Looking forward to starting the sequel.

I will mention something similar in every review I do for a Lee Winter book, but you must explore her catalogue if you are a sapphic fan, especially if you are into ice queens. Now back to this story, Catherine Ayers is elite and I have fallen in love with her! It took me a bit longer to warm up to Lauren, but by the end of the book I had bought into them both and their relationship completely! I understand why this world was given a second book, which you also must read if you have not yet!

I have been going through a phase of some "meh" books and I was just starting to get a tad bit panicky, until I remembered I had saved a few goodies for one of those dark rainy days.
So, I called for help, and boy did Ms. Winter come to my rescue.
It's been a hot second since I've felt that need to devour a book ASAP, and I can't describe how good it feels to experience it again. It's been a while since I've read a book so complete.
The Red Files doesn't deserve five stars, it deserves the whole milky way.
