Would I recommend this book to anyone? absolutely not it would be embarrassing knowing theyve read what ive read. Did I enjoy it? If I took it as a kind of hilarious exaggeration thats not meant to be taken seriously then yeah.
After being in a reading slump and bored out of my mind by the long drawn out politics of Iron Flame this is exactly what I needed. I can recognise that if I was reading this at any normal time I would probably have hated it and been pissed I wasted my time. But luckily for this book I wasnt looking for anything serious, and I also bought it on sale for 99p which was also a bonus I would not want to have bought this full price.
The way the characters behaved and interacted with each other was kind of ridiculous, their lives drew you in with morbid fascination to watch how stupid they were. Sort of like watching car crash reality TV. Some points of the book I was seriously flabbergasted at what was going on like the author has no filter and things can quickly escalate out of left field lol. Definitely not a slow pace book at all it keeps you on your toes and is always moving. I only read this because it was set in Glasgow so I did like it when she would mention some of the places I knew lol ( although super pissed she only got with one scottish man like wtf i feel cheated)
If I were to mention the flaws of the book id probably talk about:
- how gross the descriptions were sometimes this was definitely not a book you read while eating
- how unorganised and incompetent Zara was for a 29 year old student nurse like cmon like to do that she must be smart
- how unhygienic she was (goes almost a week without showering and constantly was in dirty clothes and had mouldy plates in her apartment) and somehow not understanding how to use a pad after using a tampon for like 10 years
- Kind of linking to this how she would have unprotected sex with multiple men without a condom but no mention of any other form of birth control when shes meant to be a nurse
- how Zara viewed herself and her weight seemed exhausting, she was seriously insecure and constantly compared herself to other women with a very unhealthy mindset, she would let herself be used by men both emotionally and physically
- Instead of therapy she was magically solved by the law of attraction lol (although i found that one a bit funny and the cherry on top for this ridiculous book so ill let it slide)
So yeah there are probably more ive forgotten but I didnt make notes while reading I just kind of went along on the journey. Probably scarred for life but still glad ive finally read this lolol.

I think I actually lost brain cells reading this book, and my god the fatphobia.
Yuck - crude with a main character you couldn't stand. Didn't get 1/2 way through it before throwing it away.
