When your friend gives you this book to read and you think “What the chuff is this nonsense?” But then discover it’s embarrassingly relatable.

What a terrible day for feminism.

This book is a combination of bad grammar, simply listing things that are happening, repeating 'Glasgow' and painfully detailed and pointless descriptions of what everyone is wearing every single day. WHO CARES?? There were a few funny lines in the first 1/3 that did make me cackle but then it just deteriorated.

The smut is profoundly unsexy, the characters are caricatures of 'creepy hot older man', 'bimbo best friend' and 'random POC for representation.' Our protagonist is selfish, vapid and desperate, sexualizing every single man she encounters. She's also an atrocious friend.

Also this book is SO misogynistic and classist I was shocked it was published in 2020. Here are some top crimes:
- Constant, and I mean CONSTANT fat shaming and hating on the protagonists body (she is a size 12 LMAO)
- PRAISING SOMEONE FOR LOSING WEIGHT WHEN THEY'RE DEPRESSED
- Calling women bitches for unknowingly dating the same man as you
- Derogatory descriptions of vaginas, including 'fishy' (multiple times)
- Apparently the second worst crime, after being a size 12, is having sex with an unshaved vagina

I cannot fathom how the protagonist is supposed to be almost 30.

Full on cringe. Extra star purely because it nice to have a Glasgow based book from someone who seemed to actually know the city.
