This book. This. Friggin. Book. I stayed up late just to finish it and promptly went into a rage at the cliffhanger. Why must you be this way Beck? Why must you grab my heart gently only to slam it into the darkest depths of the sea? Divine Blood ended in a cliffhanger so you thought it was ok to end Bonded Fate in one too?? Treachery

Bonded Fate
Book Two

Dyana and her guardians have been on one heck of a journey.

Every single character is on their own individual journey on trying to find either love, peace, and acceptance from this magically world. And it’s all leading to this one island…

There’s this prophecy and Dyana is the main component in it. She doesn’t know why, or understand what her part of it is, but now she has people after her. Very powerful people and her Guardians are doing everything they can to keep her safe. The end goal is to try to get to this mysterious island and get what they all desire.
“You and your Guardians have all come under the same stars by will, and destiny, for this journey is your bonded fate.”

Dyna and Cassiel finally acknowledge that they are bonded for an eternity. Finally towards the end of book 2, we see their romance blossom. It’s a slow burn guys!
Cassiel still has insecurities but he is finally questioning everything he thought he knew about his own kind and finding his backbone.
I’m still not sure what to think of Von. He’s brainwashed or perhaps scared to leave his “master” when he knows damn well he’s free from Tarn. But he’s keeping himself under Tarn to keep his wife on an invisible leash because he thinks the prophecy will kill her if they run.
So I am not on team Von… yet.
Zev.
Someone find his mate because he’s breaking my heart. He can’t handle what life has thrown at him and he’s been at his breaking point for too long. He wants to die and he’s making me cry everytime it’s his POV!

The book leaves off on somewhere of a cliffhanger. The Guardians and Dyna are forced apart and a whole new subplot are at play … I can’t wait to read book three!

My reaction to this book can be summed up by a series of gifs, but alas, cannot post them here I think.

Overall, really fun read. Faster paced than the last one, but it's still a lot of building. It's clear that Michaels has really though both the characters and the plot - everything has been well-paced, the foreshadowing and nuggets she leaves has been masterful, and each character's growth has been both delightful and devastating to read about. It builds well from the first book. Already ready to dive in head first into the third book and be utterly devastated.

An amazingly well-crafted sequel that fills you with love, anxiety, and fear! Beck Michael's is my new favorite epic fantasy writer. I eat these books up! I am excited to continue the journey with my favorite characters and have more sweet, sweet moments like under the willow. Cassiel and Dyna are the cutest. Read this book if you enjoyed the Throne of Glass series and Lord of the Rings. I am still in awe over every twist and turn Michael's embedded in her story and am not ready to leave Urn.
