My reaction to this book can be summed up by a series of gifs, but alas, cannot post them here I think.

Overall, really fun read. Faster paced than the last one, but it's still a lot of building. It's clear that Michaels has really though both the characters and the plot - everything has been well-paced, the foreshadowing and nuggets she leaves has been masterful, and each character's growth has been both delightful and devastating to read about. It builds well from the first book. Already ready to dive in head first into the third book and be utterly devastated.

An amazingly well-crafted sequel that fills you with love, anxiety, and fear! Beck Michael's is my new favorite epic fantasy writer. I eat these books up! I am excited to continue the journey with my favorite characters and have more sweet, sweet moments like under the willow. Cassiel and Dyna are the cutest. Read this book if you enjoyed the Throne of Glass series and Lord of the Rings. I am still in awe over every twist and turn Michael's embedded in her story and am not ready to leave Urn.

This book! Let me tell you how much you don't want to miss it. An incredible cast of characters on a journey of discovery, selfishness, protection and to save those they love. A slow burn romance that leaves you wondering if you'll ever be satisfied. All leading up to a whirlwind hang on to the edge of your seat ending! Pick up the Guardians of the Maiden series. It is going to be an epic adventure!

This part of the series really focused on world building and establishing all these different characters. At one point there was a lot of names that I just couldn't keep up with.
I enjoyed it overall, but the port scenes and the ending really broke me. I haven't cried like this over events happening in a book in a good while.
It was for sure more enjoyable than the first one, but the long descriptions and the filler stuff just.. bore me.

This book was such a wild ride. It’s book 2 in the Guardians of the Maiden series, and it did NOT disappoint! It’s got a very Lord of the Rings meets ACOTAR/FBAA vibe, and the world building is incredible—from mages, werewolves, and Celestials to orcs, trolls and elves, I love how the author introduces so many magical beings and places throughout the story.

It’s the slowest of slow burn romances (seriously, it was frustrating and painful but I loved every second of it), and has so many of my favorite tropes. Like ALL OF THEM (no spoilers

August wasn’t a good reading month for me but it’s looking like it's going up! This book was a fantastic start to the month of September!

Bonded Fate is the sequel to Divine Blood, and this one gave me everything I wanted in a fantasy book. This isn’t necessarily romantasy it’s more of a fantasy with romance rather than romance with fantasy, kind of like Throne of Glass if that makes sense. Beck does a great job of balancing the fantasy elements with the romance.

My babies!!!!! Dyna has grown so much in this book, compared to when we first meet her in divine blood, she’s always been brave, you have to be brave to leave your home, to travel to the unknown so she can save her home. But she was very sheltered, naive, and too trusting. As we continue this journey with her, we see her losing her innocence about the world and getting a taste of how cruel the world really is. I also really loved seeing Cassiel’s realizations throughout the book. He’s definitely a brooding celestial but I love it. We also get more bits and pieces of his life and I just want to give him a hug.

Other things I loved include:
Multiple POVs (5 of them!), it gives you a chance to see the different characters' journeys and how they're all connected with each other.
We saw the world-building in the first book but the second book gives you a deeper sense of the magic system, the history, and the culture.
The plot is engaging and keeps you on the edge of your seat, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing.

Tropes:
Mysterious prophecy
Guy with wings
Magical powers
Grump x sunshine
One room one bed
