For such a short book, this felt like it took forever to read. Nothing was hooking me in until about the 50% mark, and even then, it felt incredibly boring and slow. (Cannot remember for the life of me why I put this on my TBR.) Interesting concepts bogged down by writing that bored me to tears. It felt like it was supposed to be scary, but the only part that actually made me nervous was when someone was trying to

get into his locked room

. Moreover, there's a character that basically gives everything away in dialogue written in an accent that makes him almost incomprehensible. The only interesting part (to me) was the last like 10% of the book. Perhaps the horror is supposed to be more psychological, but I didn't really feel it, sadly (until the last few pages, which saved this from being a 1 star book). 2 stars.
