These books are fairly different from the movies we've all seen. It's nice to actually read what happened. Mia seems very unsure of herself all the time. Plus she doesn't seem to notice when Grandmere is playing her. Overall just wish she had one adult in her life who had her back. Feels like she has no one to talk to about her anxieties.

I didn't like this book as much as I loved the 3rd one or previous ones in general, as I felt the love plot between Mia and Michael had lost its spark. They're still cute, of course, but the stakes weren't as exciting and it was evident. Also the whole first part of the book in Genovia was a little boring for me. Otherwise, the saga is still as charming as ever and I can't help but love Mia and her ways of viewing the world as a young teen. I'm looking forward to seeing her grow through the rest of the books.

yeah mia was kinda whiny in this one and very one-track minded. that being said, the bit at the end with michael and star wars and the moon rock was very cute. could even say that all the whining was worth it.
does lars ever get directly quoted. i love all his background grumbles and his rambling about bear hunting and his addition to gum. let me have more lars.

Book two finished for #rainbowthon June 2015.
As seen on Caity Reads.
I love this series so much, and I cannot wait to continue on.
As usual, Mia is young and naive. As mentioned in my previous reviews, she is a fourteen year old girl and this is to be expected. Yes, she is a bit whiney; but isn’t that kind of the point? She’s young, and in high school. Not only that, but if you consider the format in which the books are written; it makes quite a bit of sense. These books are told through her journal, it makes sense for her to whine about things in a book that only she reads. I remember doing my fair share of whining in my journals in junior high and high school (the rare occasions in which I actually wrote in one).
Also, who doesn’t love Michael Moscovitz?
Overall, I would definitely recommend continuing with the series. I think I’m going to wait to read on until I can get physical copies of these books; because I love the series so much and I need to own it.
