very dense and at times complex in language but i loved the story and the narrative. unfortunately still very applicable today, even over 50 years after its publication. the invisible man is a very nuanced character that experiences some very traumatic events that i had a hard time comprehending, making it an intriguing and memorable read.

When you set out to read a “Great Book,” you often feel a sense of pressure to appreciate it as a work of genius. You scrutinize every page, looking for it to validate your monumental expectations, and this can make the reading feel serious and inorganic. Even if you come away with a positive opinion, the experience is far from pleasurable. But Invisible Man refuses to be read this way. It is too delightful and weird and hilariously funny not to be enjoyed.
