You hear her voice. She says what I've said my whole life. I would say this book completes me, but then the book might explode due to the hypocrisy of it all. That said, just truly a wonderful read for those of any age looking for self reflecting answers to loving self and being loved.

A fun little catchy book. Definitely get the audiobook and have Whoopi read it to you!

As political as she can be on her daytime show, I was a little afraid it would seep into this book. It didn't! She gives her honest opinion about why being single can be preferrable -- it being in a relationship means you aren't fair or true to yourself or the other person.

I am happily married. I think part of that is because I make sure to read/listen to books like this on a semi regular basis. Having someone who doesn't know me personally, but offering ideas to consider lets me know my struggles are universal and typically not the "make or break" variety. I love how she portrays her preference for single-hood because she knows it's 1) her choice and 2) her fault. She never places blame on the partners for her actions that led to the dissolution of her relationships. She offers a perspective on male/female friendships that sometimes needs to be heard because being in a relationship with someone who has friends of the opposite sex is freaking hard.

She asks you to consider what YOUR needs in partner are and the value you personally place on those needs. She knows what she needs isn't what you or I need, but still gives her list so you have even more information to form a solid relationship.

I liked how this book's title is a little deceiving. At no point does she come across as man-hating or anti-relationships in general. No. She simply says she is not a person made for long term relationships and that's okay; if you are a person in a relationship, look for these things as guides AND WARNINGS.

One of the most down-to-earth and honest relationship books I've read. I would recommend for anyone who needs a change in how they are doing things.

I had read the audio version from the library. I think the audio version is the only way to do her justice. I love love love this book! She is such a hoot! I live her humor. I loved how she was extremely open minded and gave some great tips. There are swear words, so if you get offended easily. But this is a really refreshing way to look at life and relationships. A definite must read.

I was expecting more takes on the author’s single life stories, but I suppose since the title of the book did emphasize on relationships, I was getting to the wrong book. Hope one day Whoopi could center the singles in her upcoming books, being one of the few single-at-hearts she is! I’d still recommend the book; realistic, uplifting, and humbling at the same time!

DNF at around 75%. Not particularly constructive advice, and moreover, I found it toxic to listen to. It made me really dislike Goldberg, and I realised I didn't respect her or her opinions enough to finish the book.
