A short but great book. While I adored the writing, I found the chapters too short for my preference.

3 dark tales of women told in the themes of motherhood, friendship, womanhood and mental health. Each of which ending in a thought provoking way.

A must read!

It's giving Hallmark crime movie. Characters liked to name drop obscure historic references almost in an uncanny valley way. Slow to start but ramps up during the second half. I also read this for book club and thought it was quite an obscure pick. The audiobook narration is top-notch though, performed by three different actresses for the three main characters.

I read this for book club, it's not something I ever really would have chosen myself.

It's very dark, gothic and very atmospheric. I like books set across different timeliness which I think this did really well. I did prefer Lina and Maxine's to Lucienne's as I feel they had more depth to the characters. It's quite an addictive read, quite easy to want to keep reading.

I did struggle with the very short chapter length and I did feel the structure jumped around a little bit it does progress well and you start to see the links.

As others said there is a twist that you absolutely don't see coming. I personally was not a fan of the ending but I seem to be in the minority there!

A slow-burn that only just pays off with a sudden twist in the last few chapters.

The multiple points of view and timelines worked well and kept my interest. I was desperate to solve the mysteries. The short chapters also made it feel quite fast-paced.

It is a dark book, with some surprising twists. I would have liked a bit more explanation and exploration into some of the stories and character motivations, particularly Lucienne's. I could have quite happily read double the length to get that!

I enjoyed the premise of the story, three women in different times facing interconnecting challenges of bullying and manipulation. It’s a difficult story to review without revealing spoilers. However, it didn’t quite deliver for me in the end. The twists were not entirely believable or satisfying though the central murder plot was well done.
