It was a sweet story, and I *love* the concept of a book written in lists.

There were a few too many penis-related references for my preference and an uninformed comment about disabilities, but idk... I never read books by cis-hetero white men anymore, so is that to be expected these days?!

Anywho. I thought it was a light enough read. I'm just not sure I would recommend it to anyone I know.

⚠ In addition to the content warnings below, I want to add that there's a pregnancy complication mentioned in this book. I figured that might be a slightly different trigger for some than just "pregnancy."

This is tough to review because I oscillated wildly between loving Dan and hating him. He could be hugely unlikeable—smug and yet also with such low self-esteem—but it also felt very real and true to life, however distasteful his thoughts and attitudes were sometimes. There were enough sweet moments to keep me going at least.

There are some interesting lists and then there are lists that I couldn't care less for. Very character-driven story; not much of a central plot to go on. The book reads like a journal, with entries written in lists format.
