This was a short easy read. Nothing too complex or unique here, but the author was able to draw me in to care about the characters despite the short length. Nice job.

Marcy is a single parent and her friends are trying to convince her to let loose for one night. Aaron is her best friend’s brother, has been pining after her for years, and is adamant the only one she’s letting loose with is him.

I enjoyed this sweet and steamy novella. It was a quick read (listen) with a small town setting, likeable characters, and a good mix of romance and spicy scenes. The plot was simple but well-paced, and it felt like a full story in 100 pages.

I was looking for something that wasn’t too heavy but still entertaining, and this audiobook was perfect for that.

A sweet, spicy novella about Aaron, an Army vet who returned to his hometown to work as a cop, and Marcy, a single mom and teacher who has allowed her social life to wither as she works to provide the best life possible for her little girl. Aaron is Marcy’s best friend’s older brother, and their latent attraction to each other has been building since high school until one evening at a bar Marcy ends up pushed up against the wall by Aaron’s body.

Aaron and Marcy communicate openly, enjoy each other physically, and fall in love quickly (after mutually pining for years and years). I loved the relationship, the steam, and the sweet encouragements of their friends. I also loved that Marcy was a schoolteacher, though I didn’t love the completely unrealistic classroom management or the sex in a broom closet (as a teacher myself, it just stressed me out too much to think about getting caught!)

Good book, nice quick read. Epilogue is so cute. Would have been so much better if the love interest wasn’t a cop.

A single mom school teacher and a police officer waited 10 years to finally consulate their attraction. In the synopsis it says he waited ten years for her to notice him. But in the story, she’s been in love with him since she was seventeen and he twenty-two. I don’t get it. Decent steam, sweet characters, but inconsistent storyline.

Probably my favorite Katee Robert book to date. There is so much to love about Aaron and Marcy’s story. Swooooned from beginning to end. We need more men like Aaron in this world - persistent; not afraid to admit and go after what he wants, respectful and damn fine.

3.5 stars. A cute novella romance. I've read these books in all the wrong order, but I still really enjoyed this one.
