Detta är min första bok av Frida Skybäck och jag är så otroligt tacksam att en författare som henne finns i författarbranschen. Bokhandeln på Riverside Drive tog mig med storm, jag kunde inte hålla mig borta från den fantastiska berättelsen om Charlotte och jag älskar verkligen uppbyggnaden av bokens handling. En riktigt bra feelgoodroman.
Bokens handling är spännande, händelserik och riktigt underhållande med de djupa karaktärerna och de fina beskrivningarna. Jag drömde mig verkligen bort till Londons gator och jag kunde se den gamla, men unika bokhandeln framför mig. Allt på grund av Frida Skybäcks fantastiska berättande.

Ein sehr sehr süßes Buch, das eine tolle Geschichte erzählt und insbesondere für Leute die Bücher lieben toll das Leben und die Herausforderung einer Buchhandlung beschreiben. Ich finde allerdings wenn man für die letzten 60 Seiten mehrere Tage braucht und immer wieder aufhört, ist das ein Zeichen, dass das Buch ein wenig zu vorhersehbar und teilweise vielleicht sehr lang ist. 540 Seiten für einen Roman ist einfach wirklich viel. Trotzdem war es für mich insgesamt ein feel good Roman hat mir sehr gefallen.

Typisches Sofa-Tee-Schokoladen-Decke-Wohlfühlbuch. Keine großen Überraschungen, aber eine schöne Geschichte, mit einer Buchhandlung, in die sich jede Leseratte mal träumt. Hat mir gefallen, aber hat mir auch nicht die Augen geöffnet.
Un bon petit feel good avec des ingrédients parfait pour en faire une très bonne lecture : une librairie, Londres, des références à Harry Potter et à la lecture et des secrets de famille qu’on a envie de déceler. Il donnerait envie à des non lecteurs de lire.
Ça reste assez simplet comme histoire mais ça se lit tout seul. Ça se dévore même. L’alternance entre le passé et le présent est très bien dosée et écrite de manière à ce que l’on reste à chaque fin de chapitre que notre fin.
Attention ce livre peut vous donner faim ! Car ll fait des références à des pâtisseries suédoises dont notamment les roulées à la cannelle

The story is about Charlotte Rydberg, a swedish woman who suddenly becomes the owner of a very old house with an appurtenant bookstore. She travels to London with the intention of selling the house, but when she arrives she immediately gets a feeling of home. She quickly gets familiar with the staff while battling her own sorrows, and after a while she starts to question it all. Throughout the book, you get to follow Charlotte in her discoveries and choices she makes along the way. The description of both the characters and the surroundings was impeccable, and I now find myself dreaming of owning an old style bookstore. I'm completely in love.
This was the first book I read after deciding to broaden my horizons a bit and not only read crime and thriller books, and I am not disappointed. I have a few more feel good books in my shelves, and am now torn between what to read next. I also have another book by Frida Skybäck, and let me tell you this book gave me really high hopes. While reading this, I definitely lost track of time more than once and I always wanted to know what would happen next. I was a bit torn if i should give it 4 stars or 5, but I decided that 5 was the right choice after all. If you have the chance to read this book, I really couldn't recommend it enough.

The bookseller raised my expectations way too much. For a 500 pages book this was missing a little too much for me, even though I mostly enjoyed the story
