very solid opener into the series. i forgot how funny it was but i did NOT forget how much i loved china
Middle grade action adventure urban fantasy— what’s different about it is that the main character is chaotic good (as opposed to lawful or neutral), and the action keeps going—Action is not one deft moment or the casting of a spell or two—but rather a series of punches and bullets fired and fireballs thrown and bodies slammed, etc. Not really a heart/feelings/do the right thing book—though it has its moments. Mostly nonsensical world building but whatever. My ten year old loves the series.

Ahaha, this was fun. xD Exactly what I needed right now. I freaking love walking, talking, funny skeletons. Yes, I know more than one. The other one I know is Brook from my fave anime One Piece. He's also funny, dresses awesome and badass. And you know... a walking, talking skeleton...
My goodness. BE STILL MY HEART I THINK I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE. This book is seriously one of the best books I have read this year. The writing and the characters and the world and just everything about it was perfect. I feel like this book was written for me. I am absolutely ordering the rest of the series as soon is humanly (or skeletonly) possible. Do yourself a favor and read this marvelous book.
