As always, this was so much fun to read. I wish more people would read this. When I say this is my Harry Potter, I mean this is the book that I won’t stop talking about, I will never not love every book. I am obsessed with Skulduggery Pleasant like everyone else seems to be with Harry Potter.

When Stephanie learns that her uncle's death may have been murder she joins with the skeleton detective Skulduggery Pleasant to foil the plot of the Faceless Ones. Not great literature but a fast read and lots of action.

Children's book so quite simple, but catchy anyway.

It's my second time reading this book. A very charming, witty, adventurous story that I can't get enough of.

This book, this book about a talking skeleton detective, is the funniest book I have read in ages. Not only funny but heartwarming as well with good world building and some of the best dialogue I have read in ages. Yes it's very much that Joss Whedon charm with those quirky quips and sarcastic oneliners that now- in 2024- is a bit out of style. But this was written before it was overused so I don't care.

The embarrassment of having this book on my TBR was one thing but giving it 5 stars-
Thank you to the weird tiktok trend about girls and their childhood classics that shaped them as the person they now are for recommending this to me.

Don't judge a book by its cover is something I do not abide by ever, but if it is true for anything it is true for this one. In another universe Harry potter doesn't exist and this is the childhood classic that spawned a billion dollar franchise. I'm only slightly exaggerating when I say that.
It did help that the audiobook (which I binged during my finals) is incredible. Incredible, incredible.
I don't know if I'm happy or extremely distraught that I didn't know this book when I was twelve because it would have become my entire personality. Now it's just the book people can judge me for because it's sitting on my 5 star shelf next to unmitigated classics like Jane Austen and Dosteyevsky. Just kidding. I didn't give either of those 5 stars.
