A really wholesome but bittersweet story about the joys of childhood, developing true and meaningful friendships, accepting and adapting to change and the challenges of growing up. It’s a magical story that deals with some complex emotions in a really sweet and fun way. The art is really cute and helps sell this magical and supernatural story. It uses the art really well to add to the story with panels focusing on the art over text. I it has a good balance of storytelling and text as well as decorative art in the borders that emphasises the imagination of children. The book follows two storylines that explore different emotions and changes/challenges. It is a truly beautiful story and I highly recommend it for any age.

A beautiful coming of age story.

My 8yo loved this graphic novel, by the same author as My Aunt is a Monster, which we all read and enjoyed.

It’s a genuinely sweet story about growing up in a fast-paced world and learning to love what you have. I enjoyed every minute of this story and how every single page is so autumnal. Literally every page is beautiful.
