This had a slow start, and I nearly gave up on it, but I'm so glad I didn't because it made me wholesome cry.
Another episode of the cutest book! It was talking about getting scared of growing up, of adulthood, when everyone has followed the current trend and you are not. It’s about friendship and we can make a friendship with any kind of it, even with a ghost. (Well you can make friends with your pets too, right?) nobody likes to feel lonely. However, we should believe in myself that it will be alright. To find real friends, to be different, and anything. Also, the sadness might come from a goodbye but it won’t last long if we keep moving on because life is more than just being sad!

Seance Tea Party was a touching story of the onset of adolescence. Lora's friendship with Alexa, a ghost haunting her house, illustrated well the anxieties of transitioning from child to teenager. I loved the way Alexa supported Lora, even if it meant Lora was growing up out of their friendship. The secondary layer of the mystery of Alexa's death and her reconnection with her old life had me in tears. This was a beautiful graphic novel that I will be recommending to many people.
Really great middle school graphic novel about growing up. Ghosts, seances, spooky story-telling, Halloween. All very good for October. Your kids will love this.
