I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this series. On one hand, the art and covers are undeniably stunning. The concept was intriguing enough to have me patiently wait it out until the first volume was released; however I feel slightly cheated that the first five issues don't provide any background and left me disorientated well until the end.
I'm willing to give this the benefit of the doubt, as I can see this could have a lot of potential for story growth, and character contexts later down the line, but I won't be as enthusiastic about picking up the next volume quite as immediately as I was for this one.

How to describe this series? It's "The Sandman" for millennials, a pop culture phantasmagoria mixing ancient mythology with social media, fandom with religion, social commentary with deep insight. And it ROCKS.
This was my first ever graphic novel and I have liked it (otherwise I wouldn't have picked up the second one). Maybe because I am not used to the format I've got a bit confused in the middle.

God it took me two months to finish this. I enjoyed it but it’s also all over the place lol.
Although the story was amazing what really sold me on this was the art. It's honestly one of the most gorgeous things I've seen in a while. If the story doesn't sound like something you would be a fan of check it out simply for the art.
